Environment:

platform: Win XP Pro SP3
browser: FF 3.0.6
AVG: Grisoft Free
Connection: Satellite via WildBlue pro plan (which is a PROXY server like all bidirectional satellite)
Occurrence: Intermittent with no identifiable conditions or causes (of course, that would make it too easy)

Over the last 4 weeks or so I have experienced the following behavior on 4 occasions.

Submit reply.
Hangs a bit,
Eventually posts,

On final post it's posting twice, with the first half of the post cut off. So if I post

"The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog"

the first post might say

"The quick brown fox jumpe"

I am 100% positive I am not double-clicking "submit."

TODAY, I got another hang, followed by:

status: error : Flood Prevention: Please wait 1 seconds between messages. 0

OKAY! So this tells us that your site is receiving multiple requests from my client somehow. How or why? Who knows, but the above report might help identify/isolate/verify any other issues . . . .

Otherwise no other weirdnesses. Could be just losing connection, FF or my ISP is re-attempting connection, two get through?

There's a Report Problem link at the bottom of the page. I find these things get noticed by the right person faster if you use the link. :)

Once in a while I got the same
quick fix: close the page during hanging time, you think it's not posted but it is.
somehow the WebmasterWorld final check hand is MIA.

Note I am on fast cable.

Thanks Gary, the problem is . . . I don't know that this is a problem with the site. Satellite connections are a proxy server, and there are many unexplained weirdnesses from time to time.
