Hello everyone - I just uploaded my first live site, and i want to thank everyone here. I've learned nearly everything i know about web design from Webmasterworld !
It was almost exactly 2 years ago this month when i made a firm decision that i would not post another comment on Webmasterworld, until i had a real website up. This here, then, is my first post since then.
You should all be proud to know that i've learned all that i have without ever posting a single question. This is because every single question i've ever had has already been answered on these forums !
Some may wonder why 2 whole years? well, I'm a writer and i kind of got distracted with that. I actually have over 100 webpages sitting on my localhost site. It's all my own unpolished writing. Basically a big .html notebook. I've been writing and learning and developing my CSS skills all this time. I just never actually put the pages up on the Internet. Then a local fashion designer saw my stuff on my laptop and asked me to redo her site. I took the old table based layout using spacer .gif's, and rewrote the entire site in CSS (a special thanks to suzyUk here for all her postings!). Then i started adding new pages done the modern way, the way i learned to do it on Webmasterworld.
Now i've got a new career opening up, and i hope i finally get off my feet forever. A very special thanks to Brett Tabke and Hawkgirl for creating and maintaining their site here. This site is the single most valuable resource for learning web design on the WWW. Hurrah!
