Are there any current performance issues with the forum mechanics? It seems very slow to me at present. Anyone else seeing this?

Still definitely slow for me. It's taking about eight seconds to change a page.

For me it's still taking about 7 or eight seconds to get the page content up and about two or three times that to fully load the images, etc.

Been like this all day.

Did you guys run a tracert to check for problems?

Sorry, I don't know how to interpret a Traceroute.

Another day and it is possibly even worse now. I notice that it is taking about 7 or 8 seconds for a page to appear and up to thirty seconds for it to load properly, with the button graphics, etc.

My cable broadband connection seems to be otherwise OK. Are there any current performance issues at the server side?

Edit: I just timed this post and from clicking submit through refreshing the page to getting to the fully loaded page took a total of 50 seconds.

Could it be some sort of routing issue?

It works fine at home, but at work with a different ISP it is quite slow (by usual standards).

Everything's working just fine from Japan. No noticeable slow-downs this week for me on any of my ISPs.

It's getting close to being unusable here. Wish I knew what the H is going on?

>>Could it be some sort of routing issue?

ISP support tells me if it were a routing issue we wouldn't be able to open the site at all - is that true?

I too have run a tracert and pathping but don't know what, if anything, it's telling me .. meanwhile it's not any better :(

It's working fine for me from South America.

I am on a DSL connection and it's early morning here.

If it were a routing issue, you may be able to see the site, depending where the router issue lies.

Tracert will indicate where there are bottlenecks.
If you're on a PC, go to Start, Run, type in cmd
type in tracert and the domain you want to check.

I just checked and it's connecting fine, although there was a slight delay.

Compare it with other sites to see the kind of result you should expect.

If you're in the UK and checking a uk site, such as the BBC, you'll expect to see fewer hops and, hopefully, fewer delays.

If you see a longer delay in the first few, that indicates it's closer to you. If you see the longer delay towards the end, a router may be down nearer to the host.

In other words, it may not be the site, but a router between you and the site.

Bots are part of the problem.

BeeDeeDubbleU - I am in the south of the UK.

I ran the tracert (number is the last figure given):

bbc.co.uk 14
webmasterworld.com 127

A big difference!
