I had some Apache config problem that I have been working on non stop (bar 4 hours to sleep) since 5pm yesterday - ( so that's almost 12 hours :( )

After many hours of research of what could cause this - mod_rewrite scipt not working when migrated site to new server - I checked the response header, and got a 406 not acceptable.

More research lead me to this thread [webmasterworld.com] where jimpoo gave the answer - added this to my htaccess: Options -MultiViews ; and ta-da, it worked.

So thanks Jimpoo, and thanks WebmasterWorld.

no to make this thread a unipost thread, please add to it by saying what (and when) was the last time you were looking all around the net for something that you ended up finding right here.

I too would like to say thanks to WebmasterWorld! I search WebmasterWorld daily. Almost as much as I use the Google Toolbar. Now, if I had a WebmasterWorld Toolbar, that would be awesome! But for now, I'll use this...

[webmasterworld.com...]

P.S. That Apache Forum is sure on the ball. I see questions answered promptly and professionally. I've always liked reading in there and I'm a Windows person.

Oh, and I found a bit of CSS this morning that I needed to make something "complete". Thanks to Suzy. :)

Same. There's a higher chance you'll hit a useful discussion than on a standard SERP. Come to think of it, why don't Google recognise this and just automatically direct web-related queries here?

I've got a Google search form set to search webmasterworld.com on my local brower home page. That's some indication of this site's usefulness, at least to me.

For Opera 9 users goto: [webmasterworld.com...] and right-click in the search form's input field. Select Create search... and make your own WebmasterWorld search. Repeat as necessary for each search engine listed.

Who needs a toolbar? ;)
