Cloaking?

I'm a long time browser here, but first time registered user. I noticed recently that registration is required to view the posts, yet Google and other search engines are able to crawl the site.

Wouldnt this be called "cloaking"? How can this site get away with doing something like that? Or is something else going on?

Only a few high abuse ISP's are required to login. Generally - those are the cable networks - such as cox, road runner, and a few selected others.

Until your isp is willing to do someting about robotic abuse from thier systems - we have no other recourse that to require their users to login to the system.

It has been this way for 6 years with Cox.

- Using Cox, I have been able to browse the forums before with no issues and no login.

Do you have anymore information regrading the robotic issues? Just curious about what they won't stop doing. You would think that after enough complaints they would fix it.

I have comcast cable and I am required to log in, however, for the information within and the people you meet, its worth it.

The way I see it is this, if the forum you wish to participate in has certain rules and regulations, it is up to the owner and admins that run it to decide on how to run it.

If you particpate in the forum, you decide to obide by what they have set up. Just my humble opinion in regards.
