A forum to discuss blogs?

Is there a place on this board just to talk about blogs. I am interested in the promotion of blogs. If having one helps your webiste. Why promote my blog if the sole aim is to point it to the webiste. I can just promote my site. I am getting spread a little thin.

I think the idea behind having a blog and pointing it to your web site is to take advantage of blog search traffic, RSS feed subscriptions, and the ability to acquire traffic by participating in other blogs, getting on their blogrolls, etc. You cannot (easily) accomplish all of these things with a 'normal' web site. Also, in some cases, it can provide a place for you to write things that you wouldn't normally put on your main web site but are OK because of the more informal nature of a blog.

By the way, I think the Community Building and Social Networks [webmasterworld.com] forum is the most appropriate place to discuss blogs on WebmasterWorld.com. Maybe it should be "Community Building, Blogs and Social Networks"?

We really don't want to put the "b" word on the title list anywhere. Look around the space a bit and you see that every blog board is spammed out. Some times the spam is so good, even the admins don't know they were spammed - but it's spam nonetheless.

Then what do you do with blog services (blogger, mybloglog, mydogieblogie, payperpost, blogmenow, reviewyou, etal) - where people come in to spam? A rep comes in (and they all have repts whose job it is to influence and control forum postings) and consistently starts threads about those products? Can't happen? Already has.
