Forum Moderators: open
This way, simple, quick questions can get responces immediately, and complicated, theoretical questions (without code) could be discussed more efficently/quickly.
General discussion would also be useful for learning things you may not have known, and would appreciate knowing.
Perhaps the site gets too much traffic for there to be any good order/coherency to the discussions taking place? (assuming there'd be a large number going to the chat).
A quick site search [webmasterworld.com] (see link at the top of your display) over the forum will turn up lots of reading on BestBBS [google.com] which was developed by the domain owner, Brett Tabke.

One great feature about WebmasterWorld is that you can look up past discussions. For those "quick, easy" questions, many of them can be answered by doing a little search of the site. A chat room does not provide this type of functionality, and would ultimately be too hard to manage; Administration/Moderation would be impossible and the goals of WebmasterWorld would essentially be lost.
