Pehaps there is one, which is just very unofficial, or I could just not find it mentioned on the front page nor via search engine, but have you ever considered having an IRC chatroom for general discussion on all webmaster world content?

This way, simple, quick questions can get responces immediately, and complicated, theoretical questions (without code) could be discussed more efficently/quickly.

General discussion would also be useful for learning things you may not have known, and would appreciate knowing.

Perhaps the site gets too much traffic for there to be any good order/coherency to the discussions taking place? (assuming there'd be a large number going to the chat).

I can't seem to edit the post, so I am posting again.

On a different note... these forums were custom made by the staff?
I assume there's discussion on this already, so someone can point me to the link. What sort of features are there in the BBS? will it be released to the public? etc.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, Xapti.

A quick site search [webmasterworld.com] (see link at the top of your display) over the forum will turn up lots of reading on BestBBS [google.com] which was developed by the domain owner, Brett Tabke.

Welcome,

>> considered having an IRC chatroom

One great feature about WebmasterWorld is that you can look up past discussions. For those "quick, easy" questions, many of them can be answered by doing a little search of the site. A chat room does not provide this type of functionality, and would ultimately be too hard to manage; Administration/Moderation would be impossible and the goals of WebmasterWorld would essentially be lost.

Oh damn. How did I miss the edit button there? I swear I looked there (under my name) when trying to edit.
