Earlier in the day had conversation with the AdSense folks. It's good to be able to express targeting issues and address concern over the network quality with them.
Yesterday saw the Google Sitemap session, Matt did a rundown about bigdaddy and other issues.
Hotel is decent but the after hours conferencing has to move into individual suites as they keep kicking us out of the lounge around two am. So, this isn't a Florida style conference, but it's something good.

p.s. See you all in Vegas!

Dan,
Cloakmaster, are you sure it’s wrong to 302 and cloak together?
Steve,
I will be down in Naples for Xmas.
Interested in a fishing trip?
Upnorth Ted,
How come everytime we travel south we hit a cold spell?
Anne,
Sorry for delaying your departure.
Aaron,
Sorry I faded away, no reflection on you.
Lee,
It was nice meeting you again after 6 years.
Guoqi,
Remember to slow down when you speak.
Jim, Gregg, Dan, Cory, Tom, Shane, Adam, Neil wish we had more time to talk.
To those I missed mentioning, a hardy "it was a great pleasure meeting you".
Glad you made it back home Shri and finally over jetlag.
I am about over 'conference lag'. There is *nothing* I have done that quite prepared me for the mental, emotional, physical, and even spiritual highs and lows that 'conference month' can bring. Every conference is a unique surreal experience.
THANK YOU to everyone who sent back the surveys!

About the same as Boston. However, we may be making some changes to offer 1 day passes and "lunch free" passes.
> Vegas registrations.
I know there is a huge demand for it right now, but it will be a few weeks until we are ready (be patient...)
> coupons.
We will be sending out coupons for vegas shortly.
Shri - Speaking of algorithms, I had the pleasure of listening in on you and Tedster one evening... realized I now know nothing, nada, zilch... back to the woods... Glad to see you made it home. :)
Cory - Thanks for the drive. Almost didn't make it to this one. It was all I said it would be wasn't it. ;)
Ralf - Photos? Still waiting for mine! Especially the one of Napoleon :)
Jon - Thanks for the Freedom Trail tour. Can't wait to see what you have planned for Vegas!
Andi - What can I say? Thanks for the mid-afternoon coach crash... and the pizza... LOL!
Dan - Yes, I do buy 'some' software!
Nilhan - Great meeting you... and allowing me to call you Neil (hug?) :)
Heather - Don't forget, you owe me a Chai Latte for the cab fare split!
Kerry - Hope you made it back to the UK alright. Contact me about the juice!
Jim: The Hyperlink Guerilla - Great seeing you again... (Jim was the first person I met at a PubCon, back in Orlando) see what you started :)
Ken (from EIDE) - Hope you enjoyed yourself!
Steve, Darren, Tim from the UK and Down Under - Great tour buddies! Glad to have met you!
... and so many more...
Hmm, I've found that all my Google upsets happened when I was away, so don't know if there is any rapid correlation between not updating a site and losing traffic - there obviously is in the long run.
Is it really a week now since the conference ended? My theory was to head down to Miami to read those conference notes somewhere nice and warm, but that idea was abruptly canned by an awesome powerboat race (Miami Beach 401 - we met briefly in Vegas 04, not sure if ur still here!).
Effectively lost a day returning home, and it always seems to take longer than it should to get over the jetlag.
So now I need to set aside another day to put all those notes into action.
Was all of this worth it? To be honest, I don't care, I had a good time anyway. As far as the accountant would be concerned, I could condense the really important stuff down to a page, and maybe then highlight three things which are absolute must dos.
Implementing just one of those things would completely justify the trip - but good plans are useless without action.
So we've got another holiday weekend here in the UK. I promise I'll come back with my shortlist of what I think is most important to do before Vegas.
I'm sure everyone will have their own ideas about what was most useful. They key thing is to find the time to give that inbox another break and make at least one of those ideas happen.
...realized I now know nothing, nada, zilch... back to the woods..
I love that feeling, and I also get it a lot at PubCon. It keeps stretching me -- the Internet includes so many different technologies, business approaches, markets and so on, and each one of these holds a universe of possible knowledge and experience.
Regular learning is one of the exciting things about this profession for me. There's no such thing as being totally on top of the web game!
Tedster...great point...and this is truly at the core of why this work is so exciting and engaging...one never stops learning..(imagine what this means for holding off old age...at least mentally... ;-)!)
And what was that saying, "If it sounds like fun, you're not allowed to do it in Boston"? LOL!
As for learning, I agree. Like my old man used to say "It's like a new day, every day! :)
