Hi, I'm new here. Kudos on the simplicity of using Goolge for the forum search engine. I mean who can index your site better than Goolge right?

But as far as we're using Google API, why not take more advantage of it?

In a lot of the searches, people need to search it only within a forum like Apache Forum, ect.. And since we have a concrete URL for every forum, the goolge request would be

#*$! site:webmasterworld.com/apache

where #*$! is what you're searching for. So we can have a simple GUI that would allow the user to select which forum they want to search in and send out the google request accordingly.

If you really want to get fancy you can try out the old method of adding a search to WebmasterWorld:
  • FAQ: Additional Search Tools for WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

Due to the limits of the code you can stick in your WebmasterWorld headers and footers the best suggestion is to use an iframe to pull your preferred search solution in.
