About URLs that stretch the page out to infinity, why?

The "Printable" seems to work differently... why?

This isn't a complaint, it's just me wondering why a regular WW page and a "printable" WW page treat very long URLs differently.

For whatever reasons I have my window set at 800 pixels wide. When viewing a thread in the regular view if someone posts a really long URL it stretches the width of the entire thread out to the length of the URL. That makes for a lot of side scrolling when the reader is using a narrower window.

In the "Printable" view only the post with the long URL in it gets stretched. There's much less side scrolling required with this style when a narrow window is used.

Do the two versions need to be treated differently for some technical reason?

Different format. The pritable version doesn't use tables set to a percentage of the width.

Thanks Brett. I was just curious.

It's easy enough to click the "printable" link and avoid the side scroll when needed.
