Now that I've decided to take the plunge and attend my first Pubcon, I'd be curious to know who else in the WebmasterWorld community is coming.

I'll be residing at the Sheraton from 4/17-4/21... would also be neat to know where everyone else is staying.

Hi folks, it's been a good long while since I've posted on the forums. Jonnyleengo IM'd me and asked if I was planning to attend but I wasn't sure I could orchestrate it. I own a horse farm, and leaving my wife and two young daughters to go it alone for the week would not be very chivalrous :) Turns out her parents will be down from Vermont during that week, so I'm really looking forward to attending my first PubCon!

I'll be arriving by plane on the 17th at 3pm so it sounds like I'm in for a bit of fun traveling to my hotel :) I'll be staying at The Lenox which I understand is close to the convention center. I'm really looking forward to learning and discussing the challenges and triumphs we all face. I'm an internet entrepreneur who lives in Franklin County, VA. It's a place once known as the moonshine capital of the world, so you can guess how many other internet entrepreneurs there are besides myself in this neck of the woods. Being in a convention center full of such folks sounds like an exciting time indeed!

Just got a decent deal on a hotel somewhat close to the event. 10 min walkin distance from what the reservation guys said The Buckmainster Hotel.

Most of the hotels downtown have rooms on tuesday through thursday - the difficult ones are sunday and monday.

Hit hotels.com - they have room blocks at many of the down town hotels. Even if you call a hotel directly - such as the hilton, they will tell you it is sold out. But if you go to hotels.com, you can still book rooms.

If people start running into roadblocks over getting a room booked for Monday (but can get a room for Tuesday through Friday), maybe those of us who have already booked a room on Monday can donate their room couch for Monday night. Then those folks can book for Tuesday onward at a nearby hotel and not be forced further away from the convention center. It's a thought.

The Lenox Hotel at 61 Exeter Street and Boylston is about 1,000' from the convention center and has rooms available on the 17th through the 21st. Their rooms start at $242/night. It's not the most economical but it's location is convenient. They've got an Irish Pub called Solas. Free wireless internet etc. Oh yeah and they have the Irish Pub. And, lest I forget, they have an Irish Pub ;)

I'm checking in at the Lenox on the 17th, checking out on the 21st. Anyone staying at the Lenox can AIM me (same handle) or PM me here.

more power to you my friend. You must have big brass ones and a huge bottle of antibiotics to be staying at the Buckminster. I'll be happy to come over there and have a beer with you just so I can see the place after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. With raves like, "I'd rather sleep in the streets of Baghdad" and "A stay at the Buckminster Hotel is the equivalent of spinning a roulette wheel of cummunicable disease with prizes ranging from athlete's foot to scabies." this place HAS to be a blast. Check out the reviews.

Sheraton Boston Hotel still has availability from the 18th - 21st ... starting at $279.00 per-night... they are sold-out on the 17th.

It's not worth spending much time on but cancellations happen and rooms become available every so often for the 17th. I know I saw a couple of the main hotels go from sold out to available (at a very high price) and back to sold out while I was looking for a couple days.

I saw a blurb the other day about immigration marchers trying to organize something around the marathon there so that doesn't help anything either and may cause rooms to come and go as well. Although I don't know how an illegal could afford to live or stay in Boston.

Does anyone know if they send out registration info beforehand or do you sign in at the door? It's seems to me, when registering, they ask for a physical address to send name tags or such and we haven't received anything. Thanks!

You should have received a confirmation email after you paid that has all of your pertinent information on it. Bring a copy of that with you and we'll check you in at the door.

Yes, go through Hotels.com and you will find some hotels downtown. They still have some in their 'block'. Calling the hotel will tell you they are sold out.

People booked at the hilton and park plaza as late as yesterday through hotels.com...

Last Boston (Pubcon IV) was my 1st PubCon so nice to make it back for my 6th. I'll be there Monday-Friday at the Sheraton. As always, I'll buy anybody a beer if you want to chat. I'm a reciprocal drinking expert ;)

So what are the evening events this time? I know there's at least 1 party Tuesday nite. Anything on tap for Wednesday nite or is that the best nite to head over to Fenway for a BoSox game?
