Maybe the next WebmasterWorld conference will take a look into cell phones

I see cell phones as being the next big internet player. It will probably be huge profits with Adult sites after Cingular and Verizon get it up and running with filters...but I am surprised there is no talk about this at the conference. I see Ipods mentioned but that doesn’t do a lot for site owners as much as mobile phones would. I feel new technology should be talked about more and more at these things. Maybe some short classes given by sponsors would even help.

I've been doing the web on my phone in Japan for the last 5-6 years. That's not the way most people see the future of mobile applications. Think electronic wallet, mp3 player, HDTV player, video conferencing, video game player. That's where your phones are heading.
The net on a phone is a painful experience at best. Aside from reading blogs on the train I hardly use the phone for the net. Much more fun to load in a video game and kill aliens to pass the time.
