How about a MSN dedicated subject?

Beeing the default on Wintel boxes it is getting to top

I recently saw some stats showing MSN to be more popular than Yahoo. The alliance with GoTo makes it more complicated. Would MSN deserve a dedicated subject?

I think this would be a good idea, as we have a section for altavista, (which is in decline as a useful search portal in my opinion) and given MSN's increasing share of the search engine market.

You mean its own dedicated forum, right? That's something that should be considered in my opinion. MSN ranks in the top 10 in Nielsen/NetRatings and MMXI all over the world. It is my #1 traffic generator. And not being 100% Inktomi anymore, it has become much harder to understand. Yes, I do think the time may have come.

I'll add my voice to the yes vote...we get a lot of traffic from MSN...especially msn.mx fro some unknown reason

This is a good idea. How about just swapping out Inktomi for MSN instead? Ink is about done now that they lost Canada.com, and Iwon.

If they're swapped out, where will questions about submissions (or non-submissions) to Ink go? Hotbot, too - to "The Rest of the Engines?"

I've done a little bit with the distributed goto results for a few terms that don't ever get bid on, but truthfully, don't pay much attention to any but MSN and occasionally, HotBot for comparison. MSN is really developing a formidable presence, right after Yahoo and Google.

I suppose we could get away with doing a dual topic too with q's about Ink welcome in the MSN forum since they are so closely related. With the fall of Ink down to 1-3 primary engines, I'd just like to get away from having the free advertisment for Inktomi on the home page now that they are a prime competitor of SEO.

Not to mention MSN could be considered as a potential source of advertising income. :)

But I consider GoTo being The prime competitor of SEO... I don't want to retire as a simple ad broker.
