Link is at top of the page and it will explain why there is currently no search function and how to use Google to search this site. Oh and welcome to WebmasterWorld temporaris.

oh sure, i was lazy to read that, thought thats for websites...

But its very strange (an dnot explained in detail) why one needs to do such a search box add? today every CMS has a search, so is that a problem to make for WW?

today every CMS has a search

None of them actually work very well.... that's why we tend to use our favourite search engine to do the job and limit the results to this site.

It just works better. No-one does search like a dedicated search engine can.

After logging into WebmasterWorld you can go to:
control panel -> System Preferences -> Custom Code Insert Top? -> and paste in the following (all on one line)

<center> <form method="GET" action="http://www.google.com/search"> <input type="hidden" name="domains" value="webmasterworld.com"> <input TYPE="text" name="q" size="25" maxlength="255" value> <input type="submit" name="btnG" value="Google"><input type="radio" name="sitesearch" value="webmasterworld.com" checked> webmasterworld.com <input type="radio" name="sitesearch" value>www </form> </center>

Which will give you a Google search box at the top of every page. You can of course adjust if you want to use a different SE.
