Anywhere to go to pay for information to get issues answered?

As a member of this board and several other forums I find it extremely frustrating and also non-helpful as far as my issues go to do posts and not get specific answers or worse yet NO REPLY at all.

Unfortunately, that has happened numerous times at various forums, mostly either domain forums, server specific forums, or webmaster ones. In fact, I am always looking for new forums where I am more likely to get knowledge and replies vs ones I had poor or limited success with.

I would gladly pay for answers to issues, especially server and webmaster related ones. Does anyone here know of a place where you can pay a fee for problem solving information?

Would not hesitate in paying for replies as I am wasting lots of time and getting little accomplished by posting at free forums and hoping to get replies.

Please do not misunderstand, I am not complaining about this and other forums. It's likely members who read my requests simply do not know the answer, or my post gets 'lost' or over-looked, or those who are knowledgable and do know the issues either do not bother to reply, or else never read the post in the first place.

In addition, I am not just a 'taker' as you may be thinking but instead am a constant 'giver' where I often reply to posts if I have knowledge on the issues. In fact, I have credit for over 5,000 posts during the past 3 yrs at several forums (mostly domain name related). It just seems like I have great trouble getting my own issues addressed (mosty server, webmaster and technical ones).

Trader,

Sorry to learn that you are having some difficulties getting "specific answers" to some of your posts.

I tend to think that people are generally more inclined to engage in discussions that are somewhat abstract -i.e. matters involving issues/details that are not unique/limited to a particular setup or a website.

Unfortunately, no matter how much one may wish to help out a fellow forum member, it is very difficult (if not impossible) to provide "Specific Answers" without getting into the specifics of a particular case.

I would gladly pay for answers to issues, especially server and webmaster related ones. Does anyone here know of a place where you can pay a fee for information?

Sorry, I know of no such single place where wizards of ALL trades reside. :)

It's likely members who read my requests simply do not know the answer, and those who are knowledgeable and do know either do not bother to reply, or else never read the post in the first place.

Quite possible. What are the areas you need help with?

If you are looking for help with specific issues, or need a resolution within a given timeframe, you may be better off retaining someone (or two) who may be well versed in those subject matters.

If the issues are generic enough, and if you were to carefully craft your questions, I am sure you will find many of us here who would be more than willing to help you out...

You could always hire a consultant. Try posting in the Commercial Exchange [webmasterworld.com] forum here at WebmasterWorld.

[experts-exchange.com...] is the best source I've found for any technology questions: IT/server/web, you name it...
Cost is minimal...

Thanks for the replies. In particular Hawkgirl had my hopes soaring upon hearing about the 'Commecrial Exchange' but my hopes quickly dropped when I noticed out of the last 30 requests, an incredible 29 of them had zero response, unless I am missing something!

Trader, I don't think anyone is allowed to add a reply to those threads.

No replies are allowed in the Commercial Exchange. Interested parties can sticky you once you post a notice.

(the one thread in that forum with replies was a 'going away' thread for an ex-mod)

No replies are allowed in the Commercial Exchange....

OK but why restrict it? I would think there would be more responses via posts than sticky mail, plus the replies could benefit others too with similar issues.

> OK but why restrict it?

Sometimes, a policy is just a policy. :) That's the way we do it - keeps the noise down, keeps the purpose of the forum focused. It seems to work well.

OK but why restrict it?

Because in order for it to be worth anything the commercial advice relationship must also be entirely confidential as it is much more site specific than the other fora here..many members here are in the same or similar niches...would you really want to see your "my site has a nav problem can someone design me a fix" answered /read /replied to in open fora by your competition ..

thats just one easy to think of reason ..
