Hello,

This is my first post to this site and i am starting with a possibly risky question. :)

So do you have any idea about the question written in subject field?

Can the answer be that forums did not return money from adsense? Are there anybody who tried adsense in forums? Do forums return some money from adsense? (By the way i am thinking to add an adsense bot for the forums in my site.)

Thanks for the replies.

forums earn crap for revenue.. at least for me. some others agree.. why? no idea.. it is like google is using a tatic to cut the earnings from a forum.

maybe i should change my "forum" url to something else because quite frankly i can't think of a reason why forums do awful. the content on my forums is the same as the rest of the site.. basically all the same keywords. leads me to believe google is going something, almost like they know it is a forum.

The answer is because WebmasterWorld doesn't accept direct advertising of any kind. :) That's why there are no Adsense ads.

I've heard the line about no advertisements used many times on here, but I must admit it reminds me a lot of PBS non-advertisement advertisements. When I look in the upper right hand corner I often see something that I would think was an advertisement - but I'm sure its not because ya'll keep saying there isn't any. :-)

Those are sponsors to the WebmasterWorld Conference. [pubcon.com] Definitely not the same as advertisements. Click on any of the images, they go to the WebmasterWorld PubCon conference page.

I guess I don't see the difference. I'm reading WebmasterWorld and I see images that look remarkably like logos for commercial ventures related to the topics covered here. I have no idea where the logos would send me if I clicked on them - I generally don't click on online advertistments.

Like I said before, if sounds a lot like the PBS non-advertisement advertisements. They tell you the name of the company and at least some idea what services/products they sell. But its not an advertisement because PBS says they aren't.

(Don't get me wrong, they don't offend me or anything - I would not be bothered at all if advertisements that were called advertisements appeared all over WebmasterWorld - just no pop-ups please ;-)

With so many spammed out websites out there - from adsense to graphics, buttons, to textad spam - I just want one place I visit to be a haven from all that noise.
