not at all, it doesn't matter where it is forwarded to, the point is theoretically the email address can be traced back to you personally, this is not the case with the free online mail services
i imagine this is useful to help prevent 'same' person conversations and abusive threads and so on

This is silly. What is a "proper" e-mail addess? My main e-mail address is on a server run my a midwestern sysadmin I personally know. Only because he knows how to run a server like a pro. If I didn't know how to use strong client side filtering, I'd use my Gmail address instead.
My best guess would be that a proper email address is one that can be traced with some degree of accountability, that doesn't have a negative history of being abusive.

Then he/she is accountable for any abusers or wierdos on the email system and there's a degree of screening, right?
