I get a 404 trying to preview a long post

Have I exceeded the posting size limit of BestBBS?

Greetings,

Somebody asked me an innocent question in the AdSense forum that inspired me to spend two solid days writing then meticulously editing an essay that will be my answer.

But when I try to preview my near-final draft, I get a 404 instead of the preview of my post. Could this be because I have exceeded some kind of hard limit in BestBBS's software or database?

I once discovered the hard way that a Scoop website limited story submissions to 64kb after I tried to post a 120kb one. It's fifty pages in hardcopy, yet it was not a crapflood but an essay I worked on for ten days. I finally had to submit it in three installments, yet each was enthusiastically received by the community.

I like to write, you see. Sometimes I don't know when to stop!

If I have to, I could submit it in two separate posts, but I'd prefer not to if I could avoid it. In particular I'd like to at least be able to preview it in one piece.

I'm hoping this is some kind of temporary technical glitch that will either go away or could be fixed.

I think it is some kind of limit to post size. I thought maybe it was a timeout, but I removed some text from the end and pasted it into another window to post separately. I was then able to preview, even though it took about three minutes for my preview to appear.

I guess I'll post it in two pieces, but I'd be happy to find out some way I don't have to.

I will edit it for length, but there's only so much I can remove without cutting into valuable content.

When you write a post that is larger then the size supported by the software the best thing you can do is break it into 2 posts and place text like "continued in next message" to the tail end of the first message.
