How do you edit posts and insert quotes?

Hi,

I'm new to WebmasterWorld, so apologies if this has been asked before, but how do you edit posts? I see an "Owner Edit" button for a while after my post appears, but later it's gone.

Also, is there an automatic way to insert quotes from previous messages, or do you have to copy and paste with

? And as a matter of fact, when posting, only the most recent message in the thread appears on the screen. Is there some way to show more of them?

I saw that page--thanks. It didn't really answer the question, which is why I posted it. Only an hour to edit our posts? Hmm.

We don't leave the 'edit' feature live for very long because if it's used later, it could derail discussions. (e.g., you post something, twelve people reply, and then you go back and change the original intent of your post - this would hurt the discussion.)

If you feel you need an edit after the time has elapsed, please contact the moderator (via stickymail) of the forum where you want the edit and discuss it with him/her.
