neutral ground = median
dressed (sandwich) = lettuce and tomato
poboy = hoagie
soft drink = pop, or soda pop

And we don't drawl like we're from the deep south. A true New Orleans accent sounds more like the Bronx than anything else.

We don't give directions as "North" or "South." It will always be "towards the river" or "towards the lake." The Lake is always North - the River could be south or west depending on where you are.

Have fun. Remember, we're a big city with typical big city issues, so don't go exploring dark streets at one in the morning and don't go looking for anything you wouldn't look for at home.

Dagwood? Sub? A long sandwich made on French Bread. May be ham, roast beef, or most likely in New Orleans, fried seafood.

Everyone go to a bar called Tropical Isle and order a drink called the Hand Grenade then everything will start to make sense.
