Word on the street is that if you fly southwest to new orleans, you can get into the conference hotel $49 a night. It apparently can only be done from the southwest.com site.

Any idea about hotel space in the area during the time of conference? I'll be driving. Do I have to have reservations?

The hotel also has a 20% off for 3 nights or more. The room I booked was about $60 per night which lets me fly by Jetblue (which was about $165 round-trip from JFK).

I got a reservations through hotels.com for $60 a night, before taxes of $48 for 4 nights, without an airline combo (not a choice for me, since my airport only has Northwest and American)

If you call the hotel directly, you'll the conference price of $79.00, just let them know you're attending... $60.00 or $49.00 is better than this...

New Orleans is Southwest Airlines' featured destination this week - may offer the opportunity for some lower fares for those who are coming to visit.
