Post to old for reply?

I tried to post a reply. As far as I can tell this thread is only 3 or so months old, is that to old for a reply? What is the cut off?

Sometimes it is a good idea to start a new thread but perhaps place a reference to the old thread. this can work to good effect if you have more info to post on the subject.
