I started a very broad topic website in June 2004.
It is about a niche travel destination which offers a broad range of activities.
This is a very competitive market with some big time players on dedicated servers.
After hangin out at WW for 2-3 months and applying my new knowledge to my site I have come under the radar screen of several well established players in my niche.
Why? Because I am now on page 1 in google SERP's for dozens of important key phrases in this market, even beating out lots of my competitors (from a cheap virtual host on a shared IP).
I have not spent one dime on advertising unlike my competitors who have large budgets. I don't get the huge traffic they do (yet) but I'm in the game.
I'm not even worried about the competition either because of the security issues I now understand from WW.
I havn't made a dime yet but I will because of the WW forums on this too. And when i do one of the first things I'm going to do is join the supporters forum.
Not because I expect to learn things I can't learn here already but because WW deserves the support. (plus I'm curious)
I also learned another thing at WW. I never would have gotten this far this fast without this forum. no matter what you want to know about being a webmaster is right here, just ask and lots of very experienced people are very willing to help out.
Thanx to Brett and all the MOd's for this priceless community.
