hi

I was going thru the profile of members in this forum. I found most of the senior member and members who are making good revenue out of adsense, not mentioned their site name in their profile.

Is it b'coz others will come to know your secret?

Your website will be a guidline for most of the new members. And you may also get revenue, if we accidently click on your ads :)

What others say?

To display a website in the profile is a personal choice for every forum user.

Some have websites in very competitive areas and they might discuss specific issues with their competitors without knowing they are in the same business. Those in a less competing area might be more willing to display their URL. Also some URLs in the profiles are linking to a personal page, not the sites people are actually making money with.

Some (not all) members choose to remain anonymous because they don't want their sites to attract attention from the AdSense or Google Search teams.

And who knows? Some may have developed the alias habit when they were kids on AOL. I dislike anonymous "handles" myself, maybe because I associate them with the CB radio craze of the 1970s. :-)

Thats exactly the reason why most members dont list their sites in their profile :)

I don't post my homepage for one simple reason:

If I mention in a post that my site earns $1000 a day, you can be certain Nigerian Scrappers with bad spelling will be downloading my site within hours.

Now, my site does not make anywhere near $1000 a day, but maybe in the future.

Someone copied my "guideline" 10 times last year and once already this year.

I'd never get any real work done if anyone else copied the site, I'd just be writing cease and desist letters all the time.

Here are two more discussions on the topic, both from a few months ago.

You'll find that a lot of our users are wary of sharing their sites with people for a variety of reasons.
