I don't know if it's been discussed but perhaps an 'Open House' of the Supporters Forum, allowing the lurkers and members to see what they are missing, would spark supporter membership?

It is a question of trust. People post in the supporters forum for their own reasons. Part of that is they want to know that their post is there for only other supporters to read and interact with. To hold an "open house" would break that trust.
