Hi Guys,

I came to webmasterworld about 1.5 years ago. I post a few, but mostly I read. I search, I read, I read some more. I read Brett's "building a website" post about 5 different times. And I'll probably read it a few more times.

I can't remember who posted all the neat CSS stuff.

Anyhow, my main web site has grown from about 500 visits/day to around 1200. Not big stuff, but better than it was. My site looks better, it loads faster. I've built several more sites and have registered a few more domains.

Why? Because you folks here in these fourums have posted some fine info.

So maybe no one thanked you. Well, I'm thanking you all right here and now. Thank you ever so much for sharing your talent.

i feel the same way. WebmasterWorld has helped me grow from an enthusiastic hobbyist to a pretty competent professional. i have skills now in areas i havent even heard of two years ago.

Hear Hear! This site has helped a young SEO to look like a seasoned pro to his boss. Who? Why ME of course! I've been SEOing for a couple of years now and with WW's help have grown my segment of the company from a 20 hour per month job to being head of our department with 3 employees under me. We now account for about 50% of the company's revenue!

I couldn't have done it without WW and all the help received here.

Your post could have been written by many here, me included. This place has provided a real learning and growth experience.

Regardless of a persons skill level and goals when they arrive here for the first time, everyone can learn from the collective knowledge shared freely by members with other skills and experience.

It doesn't matter if you are a hobbist who simply wants to share your knowledge or and enthusiasm about your hobby more effectively, or with a wider audience, or if you are a serious marketer hunting for the next sale and the maximum return on investment, there is a goldmine of knowledge shared here that can help you reach your goals, whatever they may be.

While the answers here are often not delivered in a simple "do this, get that" manner, the answers are here.

We just have to look for them. Read between the lines a bit, add small bits and pieces of info together and apply what we learn.

Thanks to Brett, the WW admins and mods (past and present) and the members for making this place the wonderful resource that it is.

Ok, here is why I recommend people to webmasterworld:

1. 1 post literally saved me thousands of dollars. we used to do a lot of copy and paste with processing orders...one post helped me find a software that eliminated hundreds of man hours.

2. My current shopping cart was recommended by people here.

3. ALL the questions people ask me about ranking have answers that can be found here using the search function.

4. As opposed to other forums it really seems that people here understand BUSINESS as well as algorithms and development. That is hard to find as most developers or designers just know one aspect of the biz.

I would give back more and post more info, but sometimes I feel that my posts wouldn't even come close to some of the olther priceless posts...

I know what you mean, but if you come across a topic and you think you have something to say about it, I'd encourage you to go ahead. I came here as a rank amateur, learned a lot, and now am doing the best I can to help out others when I can. I still have the feeling that a lot of the pros here roll their eyes and grunt contemptuously when they read my "wisdom," but I also flatter myself that at least a few of my posts have had useful information for people. And it's a rewarding feeling.

It's great to be a part of the WW community!

I echo the sentiment that I'd like to be able to contribute more, and that I've learned and earned a lot as a result of posts here. Some of the oldtimers have posted some real jems that have either saved me a ton of time or made me money.

While I may not be able to contribute directly, there were three people who went to vegas based upon my promoting the convention. Which raises the question - does www have an affiliate program? :).

I had just a hobby site a few years ago and am doing search marketing as a full time job now. I got a few job offers recently from fine ecommerce sites thanks to the knowledge I gained here.

I may have to leave the search marketing field for personal reasons soon but will keep my personal sites (yes plural!) as hobby. This search marketing is fascinating. Personally I love SEO but it is hard to persuade someone at large corporation for the necessity of SEO. (I mean LARGE corporations)

Paid search is much easier to convey... I recommended WW to several wanabes already... Good luck to you all. And don't fight too much for the rankings. the rankings come and go. ;-)

While webmasterworld is a great web site, membership is a bit expensive for my budget.

The people I was thanking are the nice folks who posted the helpful information.
