I have a switch and solo but no credit card (they're lethal!)

Any half-decent bank can write you out a USD international money order for a small fee - then just send it via snail-mail. Or just order a card, make the payment and cut up the card afterwards (the banks give them out like toffee these days)!

You can use PayPal - and as far as I know, you don't have to use a credit card to use PayPal.
