Webmasterworld has become a treasure trove for someone like me, who is just starting out. It's also a very big grand forum. We hear from people about a number of posts on this site, that really helped them. It would be great if some of the moderators/older members posted links to some of the great posts around, the must reads. Some of these posts may be really old, and hence not very easy to find.

Links to such posts would help all newbies a lot.

I often thought about having a site full of links to the best webmasterworld posts organize by topic.

This way when I'm starting to do some SEO I can zip right over and read some of the best posts on the topic before I begin.

I havent done so because I really dont think WebmasterWorld would appreciate it...

I know there is a library section, but its just a big dump with no organization.

Nobody has to post any links to the great posts. I guess you haven't found the library yet [webmasterworld.com...]

If you want to find the library for a specific forum, enter your desired forum and look for the link "library" just below the main heading.

The #1 all-time post is Brett's Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone [webmasterworld.com].

And here's one thread about valuable posts: [webmasterworld.com...]

To expand on yowza's answer each forum has a separate library. Look for the link just above the name of the forum.

I almost want to say, "They don't write em like they used to." Am I wrong? Do we need a new updated lists of top posts?

I almost want to say, "They don't write em like they used to."

I've thought that for awhile. Finally realized it wasn't that good posts aren't being made anymore; it's that my level of expertise has risen to the point that it takes more to impress me. A nice feeling, really.

Good point Matthew. Just discovered an excellent css thread, [webmasterworld.com...] , started by WebWork with a fabulous tutorial written by SuzyUK. Since I'm still learning css, this was one of the best I've read this year, but for some css pros it maybe ho-hum.

I think the heyday for classic posts has gone, but that's only because many of the topics have been covered by such a previous post and new topics seem harder to find. Therefore newbies are usually pointed to the library or a non-library post that is in people's bookmarks. Still, many a gem lurk in forums we don't visit regularly and are exposed by such threads. :)

My favourite oldie - it has had a refresher thread this year but I forgot to save it: Brett's Quick Rank (Good) [webmasterworld.com]

The number one thread at WebmasterWorld: [webmasterworld.com...]

It doesn't get any better than that.

Added: It appears to be deleted now, sorry. Huh, wonder why.

Yes, if I remember well, we scored # 1 for "my feet stink" on Google. I believe it was nuked because pmac hired an excellent accountant. :)
