I've had url's modified to something like [@#()...] a couple of times, off topic which inspires the wwbot into a "'§!§ frenzy! off topic Please advise.

There has evidently been a decision to add that particular site to the banned list. As to the reasons why, you'd probably be better off contacting a moderator or an admin - however, it has been banned for a reason, so breaking the URL to get past the filter is not the best way to go. If you can't place a straight link, then it means you can't link at all.

encyclo is correct and offers some sound advice.

Repeated and persistent attempts to promote a site at WebmasterWorld often earns that site a slot on the "swear word filter." That is probably the case with the site I edited out of your message 1.

Our Terms of Service [webmasterworld.com] items 13, 20, and 25 all talk about self promotion. We simply have no tolerance for it here.
