Brett,

Good job fella :)

This will serve to round up not only the important WebmasterWorld
homepage listed threads, but also as a brief analysis of the weeks
news cycle.

I have been looking for something like this for ages. With so many posts an hour it's a real slog to keep up. This'll keep my reading focused.

Many thanks

Limbo

Thanks.

Sorry Phrasology - Spam filters are very tough to work around. We've studied and studied...

I have tried to subscribe but to no avail. I keep getting this:

Your message to ***@webmasterworldweekly.com does not contain a valid command for this mail server to process. No action has been taken. For information on valid commands, send email to ***@webmasterworldweekly.com with a blank Subject and just the word "HELP" in the body. (You may be able to create that email by clicking on......

What is the problem?

It seemed to me that the posts listed in the newsletter were the same as on the homepage? I didn't actually compare the 2, just seemed like it...

What email program are you using Str0ud?

Thanks for the sticky guys. I have a copy now.

Brett, I dont think it was a spam filter problem. I think it was the lack of a reply string in the response I sent to the opt-in email.

Resubmitted and got the confirmation notice this time.

I agree, and the weekly is a great start. Right now, it does seem to be concentrating on the homepage headlines.

For those of us who are frequent board users, I'd like to see the newsletter eventually dig a little deeper. This is a tricky area, I know, because you also want users to dig a little deeper... not just get it handed to them on a platter... and there are gems everywhere. Perhaps a Supporter's version.

Brett, I get the same reply as Str0ud. I've tried before with Pine on a Unix box and tried again just a couple of minutes ago with SquirrelMail.

Maybe an RSS feed of the newsletter would help sidestep some of these problems?

I signed up the first day the sign-up box was up and have gotten one issue. How many have actually been sent out?

This might be helpful info to us all, just in case we're wondering about newsletters that maybe aren't yet going out on a regular basis.

You guys that are getting the error - could you send me a blank'ish email (so I can see the headers). I will then forward it to the email software vendor.

Thanks

I just received "WebmasterWorld Weekly 3.4 August 6, 2004," and this one is superb! It goes beyond the front page headlines and points me to some important material I would have missed. Thanks to Brett and all involved.

It gets through Earthlink's filters (set at medium level) just fine, though my own personal filters then flag it as spam... but I can customize those as long as the "from" line doesn't vary from issue to issue.

Reading my mind, Brett? Was going to ask that very thing! I have a good net friend in Houston who I think would be interested, and once his situation settles out a bit he might like becoming a member here.

Thanks!

Brett-

Nice job with the newest issue. As said, it does go beyond the home page headlines, which is key IMO. I like to see news that I can't already read on the homepage. Very good.
