I'm wondering how webmasterworld can get by on what appears to be CGI based forum. I've tried CGI forum script before but after traffic got real high I ended up moving to php based forum. The admin area was especially slow when I was on perl based script.

How does WebmasterWorld get by on CGI based forum and how do you guys manage the traffic load?

Also,

<snip> has less traffic than webmasterworld, I believe and they can barely keep their board up and limit to 750 or so simultaneous users.

I've also noticed that other big forums disable search functions to keep board from getting too slow.
