Hello, I was hoping to solicit the advice of this community regarding making a program that I developed Open Source - similar to phpBB and other open source programs.

I really want to foster a community where developers will contribute make the program super desirable to all. Maybe even redesign the program and enhance the features.

How do you go about getting something like this done? I think it would be great to have everyone contributing to the development of the program.

I second that, [sourceforge.net...] is exactly what you're looking for.

SourceForge.net is the world's largest
Open Source software development website,

with the largest repository of Open Source code and applications available on the Internet.
SourceForge.net provides free services to Open Source developers.

I mean, it's almost on a par with WebmasterWorld! :P

Most open source projects fail. I don't know why, but they do. Just look at the number of projects on sourceforge that havent released a single line of code.
