I was just wondering (and don't shoot me please :) ) what's the added value of the WebmasterWorld Supporters Forum? There is already so much information in the free forum. What will I find in the supporters forum that's not in the free forum? Or is it just a way to support Webmasterworld (hence, supporters forum ;) )?

all I can personally say is that I "try" and read EVERY single thread in supporters forum, whether relevant to my knowledge/needs/business or NOT.

Have you read Brett's Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone [webmasterworld.com]? Yes, that's on the free side. Think of how valuable that post alone is. Now multiply that by 20 or 50 or 100, with posts made by the experts in their fields.
As has been said many times before, much of what is posted in the Supporters forum is available on the "outside" as well. It's just that on the "inside" those posts tend to be more concise, along the lines of Brett's post, and less along the lines of "My site dropped in Google; how do I fix that?".
And as it has been said before, joining is a way to acknowledge the hard work that goes into making such a great resource available to us.
But I think there's a little bit more personality back here, which is something I value.
And I've found you do get to hear about things here a little bit sooner than you might do on the outside.
I don't mean to say that joining the back room will suddenly make you a lot richer. Rather, once you've paid up and the payment is behind you, the backroom discussions will seem well worth it and you won't miss the $90 - and it won't seem like a very big sacrifice to have made.
I did feel in the same boat as you a couple of months back.
But I AM going to say that the payment is value-added for the REST of WebmasterWorld. That's the truth, and isn't mud-slinging or snideness of ANY kind. If you've garnered as much real assistance and value from the rest of the topics here as I have, you will pony up the money with a smile.
Its worth the $89 even if you never go back there.
I think my post indicated that yes, I was willing to pony up the $90 JUST because of the "outside" value....
Since I'm actually NOT into starting flame wars, I chose not to post exactly that sort of thread....
Mostly because of posts here in the "outside" (and since I was not offered the option to simply look at the supporters' forum first) I paid for 6 months. I'm STILL disappointed. If the supporters' forum had a decent indexing facility, was split into various sections, or possessed a search script that worked (outside of what functionality can be had by using google), I wouldn't be so bummed. That's bummed by the lack of info I really was hoping for, not by the money, btw.
REGARDLESS, I still consider that I am getting what I paid for: because I STILL get great info and help "outside" for the most part.
I don't post loads, either in the open forums or in the supporters forum, as I feel I'm still learning a lot about SE Marketing. I subscribed because I gained so much from the open forums, was curious about what might be back there, and was happy to support this site. I don't regret it for a minute.
