How do post counts go up?

Does your post count only go up when you reply to someone elses message or when you start a thread? What happens if you have 10 of your own replies in one of your threads? Do you get credit for 1 or 10 posts?

Goes up every time you post, regardless if it is a new topic or a reply. Only posts that don't count are those in local forums (e.g. here), in some Google update threads and (I think) in the Supporter forum.

Ahh ok. I post a lot in the supporters forum and the post count wasnt going up. Thought something must have been awry.

Posts in the local region do not add to you post count either.
