Hi,

I'd like to know if this conference is organized every year, planning for the next year :-) ... I'll be in Orlando next week but it is the week after :-(.

Is the conference every year? and if it is, is it always in FL?, is there some way to get the info about the topics later on after the conference is passed?

I wish I could attend, but not this year :-(

regards,
Carlos.

Hi Carlos,

So far, twice a year, one in the UK, one in the US.

AFAIK the UK ones are always in London, whereas the US ones vary.

I've only been to UK ones so I can't speak for the US ones, especially since this one looks like it has more formal presentations than is usual, but to get the most out of it you really have to be there.

People will talk about things informally at the pubcons that they would never share on a public forum.

You will learn far more in a night by sitting down with the attendees than you will in a year of participating on this board - or at least the opportunity is there. It's up to you to capitalize on it. ;)

That is just brilliant! But although I live in the UK I would just love to go to one of the US ones.

Having all expenses in consideration (traveling, hotel, etc), is it much expensive, would you think?

BTW: when exactly are the conferences taking place?

Click the Publishers Conference link on the upper right hand portion of this (or any) page.

An example that works for me from Germany:
Flight 400 USD
Hotel 900 USD (10 nights, some days vacation :) )
PubCon 299 USD
meals 250 USD
drinks 450 USD
--------------
total 2299 USD

5 days vacation, 5 days business, lots of news, tricks and ideas. From my experience from London it's definetly worth it.
Looking forward to friday, 95 hours to go, till my plane starts. :)

ThomasB: I think your estimate for 'drinks' is a bit low. ;)

I'm 20 and I'm not allowed to buy alk, so you'll have to invite me. ;) And drinking 45 USD per day is enough imho, especially if you're not a frequent drinker.
