I am new to SEO
My mother tongue is French - I try to make sense - :)

Found this forum from a link somewhere.
I simply want to tell how gratefull I feel from all of you people sharing your knowledge and experience. I learn a lot in here, this makes me avoid to do a lot of mistakes.

SEO is such fluid and dynamic sector, that all of us have to keep up with the most recent informations. We defenitly have a tool to do this from this forum. Even if most people here more or less compete in the same job, the tone is just right and very professionnal.

I have a simple question though, I dont see much advertising here, how do you guys keep it up and running?

It is a complete mystery. The only thing I know is that the moderators work day and night for free and that Mr Tabke is paying for the server. I don't think he eats much.

This is a ContributionWare [webmasterworld.com] site.
So far, we have received donated hosting for a year by Steve (strcrim) and another $200 in donations from four people wishing to remain anon.

The site started because I needed an "out" from the blizzard of email that search engine world generates. I moved it to it's own domain last summer.

To that end, I may try text based advertising again. We had a testing of it last fall as I was developing a system for a client. There wasn't a great deal of interest expressed at the time, but I was surprised by the number of letters it generated after I took it back off. I may do some affliate links via the text based averts too.

Only thing on the wish list for this year, is a new dedicated server ($4000-$7000 for the year depending on bells/whistles).
