Web Page Viewing Problem

Maybe someone can help me out here.

I'm having problems viewing some webpages on my computer. Now, the pages i try to visit are "large corporate" websites which I know are "up", however, when i go to the webpage, i get a "The page cannot be displayed" message.

However, on any other computer it works.

I have a feeling this is something with my settings? or perhaps something else. I've, however, deleted my cookies/temp files/etc.... and to no prevail..

Can anyone help me out? For example- if i go to eBay, the front page is all 50% broken images - even when i reload. And if i go to Ebay Canada, i get the "The page cannot be displayed" message.
