Hello to all.

I just joined. I was directed here by someone in another group...though at this point I belong to so many groups I have no one to thank for being directed here.

I have browsed through a lot and I must say that it is all... OVERWHELMING!

I think I am way over my head. I started less than a year ago without knowing anything but the server side of the internet. I have learned a lot... but not nearly enough. My site definately shows too.

I don't have the finances to pay to have an SEO or a web developer even... but I don't think I can make any serious money by doing it myself...at least not the way I am going.

If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it.

Other than that I guess I will wonder around looking, reading, learning and trying to comprehend and digest all this info.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Re: in over your head

Don't worry, we all are. No one knows it all and I find I'm learning something new everyday. But that's why we're all here.

Thanks for all the advice and tips.

I have been on this site for days now trying to read everything...of course that seems impossible because everytime I think I have read everything I see hundreds of new posts (About how many new posts are there on an average day?)
[Never mind I just found the thread about the 1,000,000 posts and it says avg is 3000 a day..helps to look first:)]

I do have a question about the user id's... what is a senior member, and a junior member and a preferred member..

I have noticed these labels and just curious.

Contrary to what you might guess, it has nothing to do with how long you have been a member. Instead, the levels change depending on the number of posts.

Now, the number of posts really says nothing about a person's expertise or how skilled they are. Instead, it's more of a measure of how familiar they are with WebmasterWorld (especially in reference to TOS, posting rules).

Welcome to Webmaster World!
