I have happily been enjoying a holiday over the last month (nice country New Zealand).

As with most of us junkies on "holiday" I have regularly been online from Internet Cafes. I browsed WebmasterWorld when online, but never really thought to log on, using my member name, to WebmasterWorld when checking the site, as I had no need to.

For a few weeks I was bemused as to how quiet some of the forums were and only discovered when I logged on to get into the members section that there is a vast difference between what logged in browsers see and what the rest see.

I assume its to do with WebmasterWorld trying to stop unauthorised access to forums - but the moral is, if you want to see the forums, always log on.

It is specific hosts or host countries that are on the "must sign in" list.

What countries and domains exactly? I'm from Belgium; using the my provider's proxy (*.telenet-ops.be). Is there any specific reason you require us to sign in? It also happens from my university (*.luc.ac.be).

Just wondering... (I already searched the site using this site's and Google's engine, but didn't come up with anything useful.)
