Sim Spider doesn't work

Getting abuse message

When I'm trying to log in to Search Engine World's Spider Simulator I am redirected to WW login page and get a weird message:

status: We require login from users from your ISP because of abuse. Please login and then back up to view.

Have anybody else had such a message before?

Note: I haven't abused that tool ever.

Go here first then click on the sim spider link.

It looks like the only allowed referral URLs are from the domain that sim spider sits on. This is a good way to stop hotlinkers.

My guess: you're surfing with a Norton security package or anything similar that eleminates/hides referers.

I disabled Norton with no success. However, there are other simulators like delorie.com. Only that I liked Sim_Spider ;-)

Could it be my WLAN connection?

Clear your cache, then go to the homepage at searchengineworld and it will be ok. You have to have a refferal string from there. It was getting seriously abused by bots and such.

Your help was all correct, Norton privacy control must be turned off to show referer. Then to the searchengineworld root and SE tools.

I see quite a lot of websites using this kind of hotlinking prevention these days. Sometimes, webmasters don't wnat you to pull images from their server directly and it works well.

Hot linking to the util I could live with, but the bots running it, and then presenting the results as their own just wasn't going to fly.
