Ok, I wrote my first post yesterday. I got an email today and it says I have a reply. So, I click on the link and go to the post. But, I get the post’s URL and a login screen. I try and log in for about an hour thinking it’s me. Then I go to /login.cgi and it works on the first try. So, after all of this I decide that I will search around for my post. I look and look and can't find it where I left it. Maybe I put it in the wrong group and it got moved. I am not sure, just frustrated. I know this forum can’t be this bad. Maybe I am just having bad luck? Any help would make me very happy.

I realize now that it was posted in the wrong group. So did it get moved? If so, where?

No, I don't think it was moved, although from the title I would say Google forum would have been more appropriate. Normally when a thread gets moved, you will find a link to the new thread at the URL where the old thread was.

Login screen is often a sign that the page was not found, i.e. the thread was removed. Didn't you get a sticky?

Ya, I realize now that I should have posted it there. I will be more carful about my placments in the future. I checked my sticky notes and have gotten nothing. I wonder where it went? I will continue this thread now simply to give attention to these issues. Maybe there are others that have had the same problems. I would like to give special attention to the login screen that comes up on errors. It doesn't work. That is a very big flaw and I think Webmaster World should be aware of it. Especially for new users like myself that will give up on a new site if they can't even log in. Brett Tabke (moderator) please take note. Thanks for the help.

HerbieSherbert, you've arrived at a rather hectic time. When Hurricane Florida started blowing through the internet, WebmasterWorld suddenly acquired a lot of new members and about 10 times as many posts as usual. Normally, your first post would have probably been moved to the Google News forum and you would have been notified.

The reason that WW has suddenly gained so many new members is that this is where they stand the best chance of finding out what just happened to them. It's been interesting watching the process over the last couple of weeks.

Anyway, once again, welcome... I'd imagine your thread won't go missing this time.
