Is this AdSense check arrived forum?

Folks, really, I'm wondering if the same thing is happening here that happened to the Google updates over in Forum 3...

I suggest to Brett, that the 'check talk' is un-productive and useless and unbecoming of a professional forum.

Now as I protect my face from the stick beatings I'm about to receive, I'm just voicing my humble opinion.

At one point yesterday there were three different threads on the first page of the recent posts lists discussing AdSense checks.

Seems like a bit much to me, especially considering the number of other threads of much broader interest which routinely get removed from the active list.

Maybe those who are so excited about their newfound prosperity (or lack thereof :)) could make an effort to keep the discussion in a single thread?

i say let them have their fun once a month. it is very reminiscent of the monthly update on a much smaller scale.

but if you remember, a lot people loved that time of the month and sharing their experience with others. i don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. just ignore it if you don't want to read it.

i do think if it ever gets to be 100 pages long it would need some attention, but it's small potatoes right now with a few excited webmasters.

Yes, it is - hence FunnyGirl's post.

I don't begrudge anyone a conversation about this - it is new and different. But why not limit the posts to a single thread and/or keep them off the recent post list? That way those who want to post about this can, those who want to read about it can go to the Adsense forum, and the rest of the membership doesn't see an endless stream of "where is my check" posts coming across the active list.

Just the thoughts of one who is NOT getting a check ;)

There is actually only one thread on "I got my check", but there are a few other threads related to AdSense checks - one on how non-US publishers can cash checks with the least hassle and expense, one on the security of how Google sends their checks (looks similar to how banks sent customers PIN numbers), another thread from someone who still hasn't received July's check, and a previous thread on when checks could be expected.

I agree, some of the threads could be renamed to better reflect what they are about (the thread on check security is simply titled "Googles AdSense Checks"), since it does give the appearance that everyone has gone check-crazy in AdSense right now ;) But there aren't really too many multiple threads on the same thing, just titles that don't really reflect what the actual thread is about.

In England the newspapers, on their letters page, have a competition to see who can be earliest to hear a Cuckoo each year. Mild eccentrics write in in droves.

The "where's my cheque" posts are a bit like this.

Google has (probably) responded by not sending out the cheques till the end of the month, so if the recipients cannot expect their cheque till around 1st of the month, then hopefully it will stop the moaners from posting.

Either we put up with these moaners, or aggressive moderating would have to be used to take them out.....

.... Hardly seems to be worth the trouble of moderating them!
