top forum with quality and helpfulness

After a recent ... shall we say ... interaction at another forum (best left unnamed), I have come to appreciate this forum, and two other very helpful forums, so much more.

Not because they are quality forums, for they are, but because of the tremendous support offered by the Old Timers to all of us newbies.

I had read a post on what we shall call "the other not so great forum" about recommendations by a Moderator to "test click" your Adsense ads to help determine the % you would receive on the ad. I, very nicely I think, advised that test clicking was against the TOS of Adsense, and could get you removed from the program. My post was after several posts in which noone acknowledged the danger of test clicking.

I was very new to the board, but not to Adsense or webmastering. The reply I received, at minimum, could only be considered a chastisement, and by some could be considered a flame.

Well, to get to the point. All of you Old Timers should be commended for your time and effort to answer posts sensibly, even when we newbies might be wrong. I know that Brett should be very proud of the group he has here and the community spirit and helpfulness that is an integral part of the board.

I just wanted to personally say Thank You to everyone, Oldies and Newbies alike, who make this board a great place to post.

P.S. I did reply to that "other ... forum" post, advising that I would be sticking with forums where the people appreciate the input of others, and helpfulness is the watchword for the forum.

I know what you're saying is so true. I lurked around at another forum and all it contained was:

THIS forum has become so important for me. I am new to this whole world, and anytime I posted something as a newbie I received a response that was friendly and accomodating.

I haven't been around forums long, but the affection here for one another is tangible.

WebmasterWorld is a great place to learn how to do business - even if you are cutting edge, or still new, there is a TON of information here on how to make even more money online.

And, trust me, no matter how many years you do "this stuff" there will always be something you are a 'newbie' at.

Prolly the reason we've got so many forums here...lots of subjects to learn about.

I learn at "least" 1 thing new a day, and some times 100s a day on webmasterworld.

We are all newbies in 1 shape or form.

There are other good forums out there, and I've been fortunate in that almost all of the ones I've frequented have been pretty good.
But you're right-- WebmasterWorld does have a very unique atmosphere that can't quite be accounted for by the high volume of traffic. It's not just a lot of people-- it's a lot of good people posting here.
And that's really worth more than gold.

There's no good reason to put anyone down. Frankly, you have to be open to learning every day, no matter how much you know. There's always something new to learn, especially from each other, oldie or newbie. :)
