I was sitting at work yesterday, which happens to be a coffee shop (just a change of scene from my one bedroom apartment). A fellow next to me and I got into a conversation about my upcoming trip to London, and he seemed to be quite a connoisseur of London pubs. It is my first time to London, and besides St Pauls, The Tate, and Somerset House he recomended I visit the following Pubs:

* Black Friars'
* Albert on Victoria (Dinner - Good Food - May Need Reservations)
* Churchill (Decent Thai Food)
* The Grapes
* Grenadier (one of his favorites)
* The Lamb on Conduit Street
* Jerusalem Tavern
* Old Miter Tavern

They are sort of spread out, but I am going to do my best to visit at least a few them before and after PubCon. Hopefully I can entice some of you to join me.

I could probably add to that list but it may be easier to just say: stay away from any slug and lettuce pub you happen upon.

Seriously though - there are little gems all over London, usually you'll find them if you walk down the backstreets.

Just don't try the Circle Line pub crawl on Friday though... ;)

There is a riverfront jazz festival on in and around Greenwich. There is also the Banglatown International Curry festival on until the 21st September in Espotting's neck of the woods (Brick Lane), although I her the affiliate scheme is not as good as cafe lazeez.
