I have tried to post a new topic to Google News, however, I get the message telling me its on hold for review.

I am seeing other posts to this category for today before and after me?

What did I do :)

The Google News forum is now premoderated - your post must be read by a moderator and approved before it is posted to the forum, this is true (as far as I know) of all users. To increase the chances of approval the following tips may help:
- Use a good descriptive title and description for the post, i.e. "Google introduces fuzzy matching" not "Wow this is cool!"
- Check the forum for the same topic - if it's been discussed at length recently then it's unlikely to be discussed again
- Don't moan about your site being dropped / PR reduced / penalised / etc.
- Follow the general rules from the charter/TOS especially being non-specific

I hope I got that right? ;)

Well,

If they are not going to post it I feel they should let me know or post some guidelines stating that if you do not see your post in X amount of days - hours etc it wont be there.

Its an issue that I feel it is imporatnt to me at least to get an answer and by not posting it I need to seek out other avenues fro this answer.

Now everyone will go to a forum that is not pre-moderated and post not related issues or seek out other forums.

Some days are a little busier than others. You should have a StickyMail for the one that didn't get through.

Vince's list is a pretty good summary of day to day pre-mod. Brett explained it here:
