I recently stumbled across an alternative webmaster support site who were offering users the opportunity to have their site reviewed by the members of the forum if they posted a URL along with a quick brief of the site history, target audience and so forth. I tried it just out of interest and got many good ideas for my site and a few design issues rectified.

Really just wondering if anyone thinks this could be a good idea for Webmaster World or not?

Obviously there is the spam issue but couldn't it be set up with a robots.txt file to stop search engines from indexing the URLs posted and the pages submitted could join a queue to be approved by, say, senior members of Webmaster World before they get posted live to the forum. This would avoid people spamming for traffic and SEO purposes and could provide a useful resource for members of this community.

Really just a thought but I would appreciate your comments.

It would turn into chaos very rapidly. There's just too many people here - the list would grow by about 50-100 sites a day being requested for reviews.

I don't think that WW want that kind of traffic throughput - it doesn't actually add that much value. Talking about design and SEO in generic terms is, I think, sufficient.

I know a lot of people would love to see that and it would definately be an extremely popular forum, but I dont think it would ever happen here.

Too much risk of spamming.

Or include it in the private members part, give people more incentive to join.
