Hi Everyone

Firstly may I say that how good a job everyone behind the scenes of WebmasterWorld has done to make WebmasterWorld what it is today!

I have been a WebmasterWorld member for some time now and was also a lurker for about a year too (ohh the shame) I have have become slightly worried about the Google News Premoderation of posts. I do agree that something had to be done with the Google forum because it was getting WAY out of hand but I feel that people are holding back on useful information that they once posted because of the premoderation. Thankfully the other forums have gained from this addition especially the Link Development and Search Engine Promotion forums but it is not enough to make up for the Google Forum.

I think alot of people are not posting because they think their post will not be added because they don't think it's relevant or has been discussed before and they don't want to waste their time writing a long post and it not to be seen by fellow WebmasterWorld members. That comes onto my little rant about the WebmasterWorld site search feature which I feel needs to be improved and if done earlier I feel the Google forum wouldn't have been moved to premoderation (well not at this time)

Personally I do not trust the site search as it fails miserably on finding old posts, and I find and have also found other people posting previously discussed information because of this. I have discovered that it takes quite some time (sometimes days) for the WebmasterWorld search engine to update and with the fast pase of the SEO game the WebmasterWorld search engine needs to be updated in realtime to cope and also the ALGO to be tweaked.

What I say is that if you were going to post anything in the old Google forum before the premoderation please post in the new forum as if it has been discussed before or not relevant the well trained mods can decide if to post or delete.

My 2pence

I always use a certain other search engine to search WW - it's much more effective than the site search.

[any phrase relating to SEO] webmasterworld

always throws up a WW thread first, although

[any phrase relating to SEO]

usually throws up a WW thread first anyway... ;)

Better yet site:www.webmasterworld.com key words, that will give you all threads which contain the key words.
