Yesterday I responded to a thread in the SEM forum entitled "Clickz article confirms the power of SEO" started by jeremy_goodrich.

This morning I clicked on a reply notification from my email and I'm being asked to log-in, even though I am!

Has the topic been moved to subscription as I can't find it now? :Žs

GO to "Control Panel" then click MY Threads, and there you should be able to click on the thread.

Also check how long you've set the cookie login for.

Thanks Lazerzubb, I looked, and the thread isn't there - Seems like it's been wiped for some reason :Žs

Just thinking though, it can't have been wiped else it wouldn't ask me to log in surely?

Can anyone try clicking the "Library" link at the top of this page then click on a thread name? I get a login prompt that does not recognise me.

I'm also having the same thing - trying to log in for some threads and my password and username are not working, even though I'm already obviously logged in. I believe this is something that's currently being worked on as part of some back end adjustments for the system.

Just happened again!

Tried to reply to "Blair for President" (or a title to that effect) in Foo, clicked submit and was promptly taken to a log-on screen...again, I am logged-on!

Just tried to view the aforementioned thread and it's completely disappeared!

I think I recall reading that Brett has changed the 404 page to the login page temporarily while he works on some updates to the board. If the link is to a 404, you didn't need to see it anyway! ;) :)

Thanks DaveAtIFG, Someone from Admin told me this a while back and I can understand bar the fact that the thread I was responding to existed, then didn't!

Anyway, if nothing else I hope this may help as a "bug" report IYSWIM.

Ok, might have a "working" example that anyone can check:

If you click on "Home" above then on the top topic, "New Adwords Interface Launched" - which resides in the Adwords forum - hopefully you'll be taken to the log-in screen!

Yes, it's as you describe: clicking on that link from the Homepage takes me to the login screen.

The direct aproach via the Adwords forum works well.

Think I found the solution: the hompage link is poining to the wrong (=non existing) article number. So the 404 actually points to the login page. Perhaps one of the admins can change the link to the right article (which is [webmasterworld.com...] )?
