Not an "advanced web professional"?

Our tagline here is "News and discussion for the advanced web professional" -- but we also have a forum that helps members to become advanced. I would guess that most of us are newbies in one area or another that the boards address here - we cover a lot of territory!

Today I spent some time over in New To Web Development [webmasterworld.com]. I was delighted at the quality of the discussions. No attitudes at all, and lots of not-so-simple questions, all ably moderated by JamesR [webmasterworld.com].

I want to encourage everyone to spend time over there helping out -- and as you may discover, learning yourself and advancing your own "inner newbie".

Consider it done. I'm ashamed to say I rarely visit with JamesR and New to Web :(

I will try to put that right ;)

Thanks for pointing us in that direction.

Lots of good reading to do there...

don't be ashamed Nick, consider yourself privileged :)

The forum kind of started with the realization that all of us are probably newbies with some area webmastering, this is such a broad industry that there is a lot to know. Hopefully, the New to Web Dev. forum will all be about "Building Solid Foundations" and providing directions for learning, rather than just giving a bunch of quick answers to temporary solutions.

To tell you the truth by the time I came down to visiting the newbie forum I was not left a newbie! Maybe you should bring that forum up in the interface bcoz in my initial days the interface was so overwhelming I simply limited myself to Google News. :( I very rarely visit that forum and will make a point to visit that forum more often.
