Althought I know the title of the post, it doesn't seem to show up on a search.

the title was 'pagerank in the real world' or maybe 'page rank in the real world'

but of course, all that searches for is pagerank and real
or rank and real. +word is ineffective?

adding my nick doesn't seem to help.

Since it's a rather old post, might it have been archived somewhere? Quick tip on how I might find it?

Try a Google sitesearch. The search on WebmasterWorld is somewhat lacking.

IMO the best way to find something on this site (as long as it's not too new) is to search google for webmasterworld + keywords.

However, you can search for xu:username to find posts by a particular member using the sitesearch.

Excellent division of labor. Google writes great search engine code, Brett writes great forum code.

Reminds me of a notice often posted in small convenience sores: "The bank does not sell milk; we do not make loans".

hey Dave, if you found that using the site search, I'd be interested in knowing your search strategy

Fiver,

I think Dave found that with Google :)

actually I used to wonder how some people could find a thread within seconds, whilst I would spend hours getting site search to work.

In the end I took their route using the toolbar and "search site" option, absolutely great.

as they say, "If you cant beat them, Join them"
